Rough idle, stalling periodically

Does this year have the electric fuel pressure regulator under intake on driver side? Might be going bad, gets hot misses worse. Finally getting bad enough to kaput?

I will look into in it in the morning and let you know what I find out. Thanks.

I looked up the fuel pump replacement and it seems like there's a lot more to it than just the "pump" if I'm not stating an obvious. I say this because after the pump is replaced there are a few more things that were not changed before reinstalling. Question is, shouldn't I just replace that whole assembly, including the pump, if funds allow it? I'm going to unplug the battery for 30 minutes to reset the computer after changing TPS and see if runs different because this is my daily driver and needed asap.

Yes.
Fuel pump assembly has pump, regulator, and fuel level sender all in one unit. Find the Ford - motorcraft part number, then use that on eBay, or even put " home Depot" behind part number on search.

@MakinJeepsWeep! Brought up a good point. He's correct, there is a vacuum operated fuel damper on the fuel rail.

Please post a picture of your engine. Need to make sure this is an ohv, not sohc engine please. Front area of valve covers and intake would be good.

Might look at last few posts of this thread for similar wires broken

4.0 SOHC was jerking at 55-60 mph , now stalling every 2-3 miles.

Please post a picture of your engine. Need to make sure this is an ohv, not sohc engine please. Front area of valve covers and intake would be good.

I posted 3 pics with the original post. If those wont help ill have to get another. I am certain this is the 4.0 OHV.

2nd pic,

See the red hard plastic line, in with the other colored lines? The red goes to the fuel pressure damper. If the diaphragm in that damper was leaking, fuel might be present inside that red tube. If you can get in there to disconnect that, see if you smell gas, or see it drip out.

Not too long ago another member here replaced just the diaphragm inside, but new ones are available from Ford.

That line seems dry as a bone. Jumped inside to really smell the lines too and there isn't a hint of gas.

Still feeling like the fuel pump is pumping, just not pumping fuel.
It's been mentioned on this forum, the in tank regulator will just blow out. The pump just circulates fuel in the tank at that point
