I have a 2011 XLT with 20" hankook tires inflated to 40 psi and have about 22K miles on the tires. My wife was involved in a car accident with her minivan and she broke her neck, thankfully that is all, however now she does not want to ride in the X because she feels every little bump and the larger ones are a killer. I think it rides real good on nice smooth asphalt, but rough road sections are a little over the top even for me. Anybody got any suggestions? Maybe newer tires with softer rubber, air shocks, or what?

Thanks in advance, Gary

There is a significant difference in ride (softer) between the 18" wheels and tires and the 20". It is the primary reason I stayed with the 18's. Low profile looks nice, but have a very harsh ride.

Sorry for your crash. Why did you overinflate the tires? I'm pretty sure Ford wants them at 35lbs.
That would make a huge difference in ride.

As said above..drop your tire pressure at least 5 lbs.
