My 94' Aerostar like I'm assuming many of yours, has some gnarly steering pump whine. I've seen plenty of information on doing a Saginaw pump swap from the Econoline vans to Ford trucks of this era but was curious if anyone's ever done one on an Aerostar? I am thinking about doing one to my van and would love to gain some insight on it! Cheers.

Yeah agreed, Just wanted to see if anyone had tried a swap, and how it went. I think it could be a nice upgrade. I've heard it improves the power steering greatly as well. Definitely still functional currently but why not improve upon it if possible! Just curious to learn!

I have a modification just for this which I've been using for many years. I've never heard a whine since it's been installed. It's a plumbing part for eliminating a condition called water hammer. The part has a small cylinder filled with nitrogen gas to absorb & dampen vibration. Think of an expansion tank which is used on hot water systems but a miniature version.

this is super interesting, I will look into that. By the looks of the part I imagine you just tapped it into the line and that was that? relatively straightforward install?
