I just bought a bottle of Sea Foam and had a few Q's. I just changed my oil <500 miles ago and was thinking that it may better to add the Sea Foam to the intake right before my next oil change. I just don't fill good about that stuff hanging around in there for another month of so before I can change the oil. Any thoughts?!?
Also the instructions say to add only 1/3 of the can to the intake. Did everyone else follow this or did you add the whole can? Anyone added this to there oil? Results? Thanks for any thoughts.

i used amsoil's power foam and put the whole can through the Throttle Body. I'm not putting anything that comes out of an aerosol can into my oil, plus with high mileage i don't wanna take the chance it would clean it too well and make it leak more than it already does.

thanks for the replys. I have decided to hold off until closer to the next oil change before I induce the smoke show for the whole neighborhood to enjoy. I believe that I will pour 1/2 of the bottle in the intake and the other 1/2 in the fuel tank when it is about half full. I don't think it will hurt anything. It just seems right to change the oil quickly after using this stuff.

I have seen references of Sea Foam being "sprayed: and "poured". Is this product in a spray can or a liquid in a bottlr?

Thanks.....

The sea foam I used you had to pour from a metal can:)

Sea Foam you pour, Amsoil Power Foam you spray.

Its funny, every single bottle of Sea Foam I have seen has complete detailed instructions on the back. It can be used in the fuel, in the oil, through the carb, through the throttle body, and through a vacuum line into the intake manifold.

It says pour 1/3 can through the vacuum line every 2500 miles. I ran an antire can through a Maxima, worked great, I will run 1/2 can through my truck, and put the other 1/2 in the gas tank.

The vacuum line or going right through the throttle body (NOT MAS SENSOR OR INTAKE TUBE, you actually stick a hose through the throttle body butterfly valve) works perfect on our V-6 engines. I prefer the vacuum line method because it litterally sucks the sea foam in.

Sea Foam is poured from a metal can with a small funnel (unless you are really good! :)

Its always a good idea to change the oil after running any kind of flush or cleaner through your engine, however going through the intake with teh engine runn ing I would say the majority of the Sea Foam itself is expelled out the exhaust in a big white cloud.

Are there bottles out there without instructions on them? I have heard there are.

Sea Foam makes 4 products. The most popular one is what most people use here (SeaFoam Motor Treatment). It is poured from a can or sucked through a vacuum line. The other products are Trans-Tune which you pour into your transmission, Bug-B-Gone which is a bug cleaner and finally they have their Deep Creep which is in an aerosol can. Among other things, the Deep Creep can be used as an intake cleaner, carbon cleaner, moisture displacer and a penetrator/lubricator. Go to Dead Link Removed for more information on their products. I have used all but the Bugs-B-Gone with usually great results.
