So I've heard it does a lot of good to pour this through your throttle body. I've already put one bottle in my oil. Do you actually... pour it into the TB....?? and then start it? just wondering...

Huh? Is this actual Sea Foam, or is that a name for a product?

Read the instructions man. Pull a vacuum line and put a small funnel in it. Pull the throttle while you're pouring, and make sure to pull slow.

My bottle only had gas tank and crankcase on it...

also, its the name of the product

i put a small hose through my tb and poured in there.. hope it works i'll try to start it up in a few min

HMM... how long does that greyish white smoke pour from my exhaust?!???? it says fumes will be strong for a short time, how long is a short time??? It didn't start up easy, did it blow a head gasket?!!!!!!!?

It will blow grey for about 5-10 minutes, go out and drive it. That stuff is great, I put it my lawn mower every fall. I have only used it once on a car it ran alot better after.

I thought it would never stop!!! I had it in park and it smoked like a smoke bomb on 4th of july. When i revved it up... seriously MY WHOLE STREET was engulfed in smoke... 3 people asked what was wrong with my car. I drove it to mcdonalds and it stopped :)

LOL. You're actually supposed to pour it in while it's running but I guess that's ok :D

Yeah mine smoked worse than our old diesel chevrolet caprice.

it said pour in why engine warm then start...
i tried to start it like 45 seconds after.... and like a cylinder locked up, and it would sound like it turned over putl ike a piston was stuck or something.. scared the SH** out of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then i read the bottle and it said wait 5 min before you start the car, so i waited and it (after many turn overs, and help from the gas pedal) stuttered to life. The smoke show was incredible... i think it alone was worth 4 bucks :)

Wat does "SEA FOAM" do?

It cleans up the inside of your engine. Most notably carbon deposits on your intake valves and inside your intake manifold.

Where can you find it at?

we have a similar product we use at work called induction cleaner..... it is basically solvent that pumps thrhrough your intake and removes varnish/carbon deposits from parts......

Sounds like trouble to me guys. White smoke is water vapor. Water is not compressible like gas and air. Is it worth potentially breaking a wrist pin, damaging a valve or crankshaft bearing just to MAYBE clean out some gunk? Not to mention that varnish and gunk do not just vaporize magically. Chances are, you'll just move the gunk to the exhaust valves or cat in the form of carbon. I've never done it on my 97X, but removing a throttle body and air intake is no big deal. Maybe I'll do that instead when the time comes.

Amsoil also has a product called "Power Foam" which many people swear by. I would not at all be worried by the smoke.

i've removed my TB and air intake tube and cleaned that... putting seafoam in your intake cleans out your actual cylinders.

Stuff like tons o' white smoke (I usually associate it with a blown motor) makes me nervous - I would love to try this, and have never heard of anyone wrecking anything with it....but has it ever happened?

Does anyone know of any horror stories - I have 105K on my truck now and would love to make it last until my 7 year old is ready to drive (yeah right) -

How will this stuff effect my truck in the long run? Will doing it help or hurt - I think my truck is well maintained with no known issues - uses no oil - does not miss - smooth running motor - like most of you out there I am just always messing with it a bit and always looking for a little more HP so I can continue to dust my buddy in his 4runner .

Thanks -
Jeff

One of my friend's dad used it on an '89 Blazer. It was dieseling very bad and its performance just plain suck. Well, he used the sea foam every couple of weeks and now, it runs like a new engine. Very quiet and no dieseling.
