seafoam disaster - missing fires

I never have ( never needed ) and I Sea Foam often.

For a really high milage engine you usually have to...tell tale sign is when your truck runs like poop. I did my first sea foam treatment at 150k and i had to replace my plugs.

My plugs had a ton of buildup after I seafomed the engine. I changed them and all was well.

When we do an induction flush at the shop - we recommend a tune up cause it will build up on the plugs

Ditto.

Frequent SeaFoamings keeps the garbage in check and won't foul the plugs.
Doing it for the first time at 80+K and you can expect to foul the plugs. I Seafoam before I replace the plugs, two birds, one stone.

I have 148k, and have just used Seafoam for the first time. The oil was super filthy, but I didn't notice anything else as far as misfiring, or plug fouling. I'm just wondering, what would happen if you tried a second can of Seafoam? Maybe it would remove the carbon build up that originally fouled up the plugs.

Thank you all so much for your help with my issue.

All plugs are replaced, as well as new wires, and everything seems to be running fine. It was kinda funny, the computer threw a code on the #5 plug, I replaced it and was waiting for the weekend to do the rest. 1 by 1 they kept failing, and throwing codes. I am not a plug engineer, but they looked pretty OK to me when I pulled them out. Fresh plugs fixed the CEL though, so they must have been the culprint. Went with Autolights this time (Wal-Mart sells 2-packs for like 4 bucks for the Platinums) Also Autolight wires, which were very nice, and easy to lock in and loom.

1 interesting thing, pre-SeaFoam, my idle was around 1000, now it sits at like 500-550 (factory tach reading) I am not sure if this is due to the SeaFoam, new plugs and wires, or cleaning the idle throttle controler. At any rate, it should burn less gas which was the goal.

Thank you again for everyone that helped.

Hey, take a compression test on all cylinders. If you find number 5 has no or lower compression. You just poured liquid (that cant be compressed) into your engine and hydro locked the cylinder. Bent a con rod and now needs major ohaul. This is a major problem this procedure has. The product goes into the intake way too fast. Has no chance of burning properly and sits in the intake waiting for a wide open throttle to suck in all thAt liquid. Like driving through water. I hope I'm wrong Kevin Good luck.
