Guess I can update the truck aspect of the thread too. It's been running for 10 months now! About 6k miles during that time. It did a lot of tow duty this last week as well. All went good.

I guess my next mods will be to install the 05+ diesel emblems and tailgate emblem (I've had for well over a year). Then I'll need new tires (and wheels) before winter. :)

Most action the Explorer has seen all year:

dude, you only drove this thing 6,000 miles in ten months? That rocks. I have been offered a company truck but I keep driving my Super Duty. I guess I'd rather enjoy a nice 4 door lifted truck with sirius instead of a manual shift 4 cylinder Nissan. Got 66K on the odometer of mine at this point.

Keep an eye on Craigslist, lots of super duty wheel/tire combos showing up with guys needing to make the mortgage payment or slow on work.

Yeah, if I drove this thing to work every week that'd be 2,000 miles a month. :( Plus the 15mpgs this thing gets VS the 38mpgs my white car gets. :( :(

But as soon as I work closer to home its on.

I just realized something : except for the Explorer, all you have are diesels - french fry oil time.

and strange enough, around my parts, diesel is cheaper than regular unleaded gas!

I'm wondering how long that will last..

Well this makes two years in a row the 6.0L has survived Christmas Tree hunting! I think I beat my all time tree height record too.

That's not what they mean when they say "Going Green". :p: Hey where's the red flag tied to the end??? Safety, safety, safety Johnnyboy!

Should put off some nice high flames out at Truckhaven:p:

and there is a tow strap connected to your front bumper why?

15' off the road I had to use it. :( I'm overdue for some
tires.

I'm overdue for some tires.
Or some off-road driving experience -- since you and I seem to be lacking in that department within the past year or so.

That might have been 90% of it. But 10% was definitely the MT/Rs.

The GF wanted to do the same thing this year - the accident put the kaboosh on that.

Maybe next year. This is up by Chico, right?

Yeah, we go out Hwy 36 towards Mt Lassen. Being that a permit is only $10, it's pretty much the way to go. What are trees on lots down there? $100?
