I recently removed and replaced the crankshaft pulley and replaced the front seal. It might not sound like much of a job, but for me it was. There had been oil seeping from the front seal for about a year. Since I only have a dirt driveway and no garage, I waited until the weather was nice to attempt the repair.

The reason I'm writing this is because I wanted to share my excitement about the 'apparent' success of the repair. It's been a week and no oil leaking 'yet.' It took me about 4 hours to do the job.

This forum was a great help to me and I wanted to thank anyone who helped me. I researched everything I could on this forum. Others have done this before me and were a great help with the procedure and with recommending the tools that I would need. I planned it for about 6 months and slowly acquired everything I would need to do the job. Harbor Freight, Fastparts, NAPA, and Lowes had all I would need. I don't think I spent more than about 10 bucks for any tool.

I could write a lot more, but I'll stop here. I would be happy to answer any ?'s anyone has about this. There is already a "how to" that I could steer you to if you needed it.

Congrats on a job well done:chug:

Good job, you may breath now

Its always nice when you complete a job yourself. Pat yourself on the back.

I have a similar story with my 72 Buick. Wanted to take the motor and trans out cause they were leaking from every possible place. I had never done anything like that. My neighbor talked me into it (he had done it before) and before I knew it the motor was on a stand. Took 2 months to get it back in but I'm glad we did it.

It wont take as much effort to do your next project now cause you know you can do it.
