For three years my trasfer case never works in “Low” I Buyed my explorer in april 2000. The four wheel drive works O.K. but the low never works.
I went to a mechanic. He didnt do nothing. I probed other mechanic, nothing else. Five mechanics looked my vehicle and search the problem. The solution was a mistery.
I was searching in the web a long time for information about the transfers systems for Ford Explorers, finally . A year ago I finded this GREAT PAGE.
I readed here about the control module and the red light in it. I tryed this. My red light no flash. My control shift module was he problem. I finded the problem.
For two years I search a new Shif Control Module, here in Paraguay the dont have one. They never have one. They said to me that they can give one for me from USA for “just” 1200 USD.
In the web a finded that in USA it cost around 800 Dolars.
A month ago I finded my solution.
A friend, a electronic engineer maked for me a new transfer control module. We read all the information in this forum ( Thanks Dr Bob), and looked the all photos.
Yesterday I installed my new Shift Montrol Module made in Paraguay.
We used the same controls, conections etc
IT WORKS 100 % OKEY and it cost to me 120 USD.
