Well if you want to get the kit you can get it Here for 28.00.

I have parts of the same kit for the A4LD in mine- very similar. It has some VB mods and some new seals- some of which can only be installed during a rebuild.

Worth the $30bucks In my view.

now some people are saying there are different stages. Is there anything availible like that for the 4r55e? Im thinking of running nitrous and need my tranny to hold on as long as it can.

I recommend the transgo internal kit and also the BM electronic shift improver. Also be sure to have an aux tranny cooler.

Is the stock tranny cooler enough or do i need a bigger one? Also where is the best place to pic the BM kit up at? Thanks man

I got mine from truckperformance.com

the stock aux cooler is ok, but a larger one couldn't hurt, especially with the stocker 8 years old.

Ok truck goes to the tranny shop on monday to get the trans-go shift kit in (if they are in stock). Now if i get that and the BM kit you mentioned Alec... will I chirp 2nd? (intake, high flow cat, flomaster single out exhaust)

Im looking at the B&M shift kit improver. How and where does it install?

bump for more opinions and info

OK im lost here... It says I have trans code T in the door and I cannot find a kit for this. Can someone help me out!!!!

95s are screwy. Some have the A4LD and some have the 4R55E. Just figure out which you have and get the according kit from another year.

Who has done this upgrade and what differences did it make? Is it something that can be done with the trans in or is this for a rebuild?

Also mine is a 95 so how can I tell what trans is in mine?

Most 95s have the 4R55E, just his code was "T" which can be either.

The B&M shift improver is a great unit and takes less than an hour to install without messing with the tranny. It firms up shifts on 3 settings: stock, medium, and firm. If you use the search feature you'll come up with many many threads on it.

I was also thinking that the internal change would help the life of the trans as well if it is correcting some problems like the one on ebay supposedly does. The B&M I think is just an electronic change in line pressure...is that right?

Yeah its just an electric hook-up. It says it helps prolong life, yada yada yada so i guess its about as good as an internal one.

To install the B&M shift kit, all you have to do is cut the factory vacume line on the tranny in half, put the "T" that is supplied with the kit in-line with the hose that you just cut, and then run another line from the top of the "T" into the cab somewhere that you want to mount the controller. This shift kit is basically a controlled vacume leak. It just allows you to change the pressure in the trannys vacume line so it shifts differently. I had this kit installed on my 92 for about 2 months untill my tranny started acting up. when I decided to take it off I went to where the "T" was located in the vacume line, and the line was kinked. Just make sure you dont leave much slack in the line or you too will have it kink. It did seem to help firm up the shifts abit. But I took mine off anyways because the tranny was acting up really bad and I think I got some water in it from going through too deep of water. With that said, I wouldnt recommend going through water that is deep enough to come halfway up your doors. LOL.
Later,
Andy.

Thats for the A4LD. The 4R55E is totally electronic.
