Shift linkage?

Hey. so ive got an 84 BII with a C5 auto and im gettin ready to get everythin pulled out so i can get the tranny rebuilt and add a lift n all that good stuff, but i was wondering what is the easiest way to undo the shifter from the top of the tranny so she can get yanked out ( im pullin moter with tranny still attached)

you cant get the engine and transmission out of the truck together, well not without cutting up your radiator support

The C5 automatic linkage is on the side of the transmission, not the top

linkage =side. shifter=top. but anyway easiest undooin?
