My father has a 97 Explorer and some time ago had to replace the rear shocks. He sourced the parts from Rockauto in the US and they fit fine.
Only difference is the original shocks had an electrical connector for the self levelling system, the new ones don't. They come with instructions that say insulate the connectors and refer to 413-08 in the workshop manual to stop the ECU from reporting a code. We don't have the Workshop manual.
Does anyone have the Workshop manual or know what needs to be done to stop the ECU kicking up a fuss?
