I hear you on that!! I also got another 93 that is manual.. Bought it about 2 years ago for $400, came with kenwood cd player amp an subs, sounds great. Body is little beat up but have not had any major problems with it... Not to long ago the gauges an things wouldnt work turn out to be an ac fuse that blown an put a new one in an it fixed it lol... But yea thats been the best 400 I have ever spent

Sounds good.
I paid $1500 for mine good outer body. Great interior came with a police scanner. I've only messed with it a few times but I need to get an antenna for it so it can pick up more. I got in my truck today to move it and smelled.......caramel!:mad::eek::eek::eek::confused::confused::confused::thumbdwn::thumbdwn::thumbdwn:
I hope somehow that it's not the head gasket.

Hmm caramel huh?! The only thing I would think of it is was mine, is that the kid put some caramel in the heat vents lol.. But other then that I dont know

Haha, yeah, that's the smell that usually accompanies a blown head gasket.

Yep

Little Update here..

Today put a different fpr on it, still wouldn't start. Bought a fpr gauge an on koeo I got 40 psi.. Went back in to the auto store an picked up some new plugs, the old ones was fouled an soaked in gas. Got all the new ones in an fired first try! What ya know yess finally back running.. So checked the fuel pressure once again, same 40 with koeo an when running I had 35-36 so I'm all good there.. Oh it went back to 40 once turned off. an stayed there for a good 5 mins before I just let the pressure off.. Now just changing the oil again gas gas is in it!

With the intake gasket leak would that cause any fluid in the heads or combustion chambers?

I noticed also on one of the nuts on the studs on the upper intake had brown powerdy stuff caked all around the one stud an nut.. Not sure if that is cause that gasket is bad as well.. If the only problem I'll have with the intake leaking is filling it every so often I may just wait till summer to do the gaskets.. Don't have a garage that has heat to work on it.. Just a old poll barn out in the country that I had used today an it was still flippin cold in there

don't feel bad at least you have place thats under cover to work on yours... i think i'll forgo the repairs on the explorer for a while and start to worry about building us a car port that attaches to the house :hammer:.

gas in the oil huh ...not good.maybe from the leaking fpr ...remember gas was getting into the intake way of the vac lines ...with maybe a leaking valve stem seal it could have worked it's way into the crankcase ...just a guess

Yea having something keeping me dry helped, but its not insulated an holes all over an with it out in the country with nothing around the wind was something else lol.. its a pretty big building an took a lil space heater an that didn't help unless I stood right by it.. So you think me putting off the intake an valve gaskets be ok? Don't believe it loses alot of coolant at this time..

An I'm hoping the gas in the oil is from the old faulty fpr... Just changed the filter an oil not even a month ago cause it was like that (that was with the bad fpr in) an to top it off I bought a $12 bottle of lucas oil stuff to put in it so there goes that.. This time its just going to be straight oil until I see all is well ..

Hope this does it now for a while, An I'm sure my girl does also Lol... all I been doing for the past month + was being on this website, reading my chilton, working an working on this truck lol.. ready for a lil break if ya know what I mean lol

One more thing, with the driver valve cover leaking pretty constant you think I could loosen up the bolts where its leaking, lif tit up a tad, clean it an apply a good amount of rtv to it. without causeing any other leaks there?

if it's leaking that bad then i don't think that rtv will hold much ,could just try to tighten the bolts a little but if it's a really bad leak then material is gone...i would just replace it .the cheapest ones at advance auto is $23 (fel-pro brand intake and valve gasket set) but they are cork (cheap) the best ones to get are motorcraft..they are a steel gasket surrounded by rubber i think ( more durable)
