Well, I just wanted to let y'all know that you were right!!!!!! Did the e-bay sub and amp combo buy. Just wanted to get some bass, not rock the 'hood.
Well I decided to take it to a professioanl installer this past Sat. to get a clean job. Bought a Q-Logic stealth box, and took the amp, sub, and box to the audio place. Well went to pick it up and lo and behold the amp was a piece of s**t !!!!!!!!! The installer opened it up to show me basically a radio amp inside a metal box. It said on the outside 1600 watts (400x4), he said if it was 20 watts he would be surprised. You could'nt even hear the sub when the amp was connected. So I bought a small Clarion (200 watts), while at the store and they switched it out with the e-bay crap. The moral of the story is "If it looks to good to be true....... it is"

what brand amp was it?

It was a Cuspid U.S.A. model AM-4310.

ouch, hope you didnt pay much! gotta watch out for those ebay "deals"

sean

I only paid $50.00 for the amp and a 10' sub. After the shipping cost it was like, $72.00 out the door. The sub seems o.k., though it probably won't last long.

No, the moral of the story is "you get what you pay for".

Quoted again for utter truth.

hey i bought my bazooka amp off ebay, and it works great, came with 2 bazooka subs also, got it all for $160, bought it for the amp, but one of the bazooka made a good third addition to the 2 alpines....all works great....

got my 2 sony 10's off ebay, good deal

I would say on ebay, buy brand names of some kind, and always buy from reputable dealers with a few thousand positive feedbacks, the ones that sell crap won't stay in good standing long....

Problem with Ebay is 9 times out of 10 you are buying from an unlicensed dealer. This means you usually get no warranty what-so-ever. It may be cheaper, but if you do the proper research on name brand sites you can find authorized internet dealers who have bargain prices with free shipping and warranties that meet or exceed the factory warranty. For example, all my stuff came from www.SoundDomain.com they are fully licensed with everything they sell and I blew my sub in three days, returned it, I have a new one free of charge.

Something were never meant to be bought on E-Bay. Just my opinion.
