I took a butt-load of pics and have to compile everything.

Looks great. How many man hours did this take? Was it difficult, like a 4 out of 10?? I'd love to install this, but taking the entire door off, etc., is something I would probably screw up.

Anyways, adds a great look.

Taking the door panel off is nothing. I took my time doing this because I planned on doing the write-up so I was taking multiple pics of each step. It's really not that difficult.

My write-up will be a step-by-step instructional with pics of each step. I just need the time to put it together. I took almost 200 pictures, so it will be very detailed. I have made all the dumb mistakes, like putting the door panel back on and not reinstalling the speaker, so yo won't have to.

The kit was only $39.99 +SH, the tools required are minimal, and you will love the final product. I hope to have the how-to posted by the end of the week.

Signal Mirrors look good

That will be quite the write up. I will wait and look at it, and then see if I can tackle this mod. Again, it sure looks good. I wonder how long the led's will last, like man hours? Sure would suck for it to only last a few months and die after all the work.

Look forward to the write up!!!

Thanks. LED's last a lot longer than regular incandescent bulbs. This is from a website that specializes in LED's:

How long they actually will last is hard to tell exactly, since in theory it will take tens of thousands of hours to reach the end of their life (or longer). Because of this, lighting companies are forced to test the bulbs using acceleration techniques to simulate years of life in a short amount of time.
LED bulbs last longer because they don’t have the same issues that standard bulbs do. They simply don’t have the parts (filaments, igniters, etc) that other bulbs do that break and cause a bulb to burn out. Since there are no super fragile parts and there is no breakdown that naturally occurs, they keep working for years and years.

In fact, when most companies list and average life for an LED, they refer to a time when the light produced by the bulb will diminish to 70% of the original maximum brightness. The bulb itself will continue to work well beyond that time frame.

Was working on the write-up today. Hopefully I can stick to the self-imposed deadline of the end of the week.

I'm also looking forward to the write-up. My brother wants to have me install some MUTH signal mirrors on his mustang, and I have no clue how to do this.

Nate, the kit I got was pretty much a direct replacement. Pop out the old glass and pop in the signal glass. That is why I needed the OEM mirrors. MUTH has great instructions on their website. In fact, I read over the MUTH instructions thoroughly before I dove in. My kit is for the Ranger so I didn't really use the instructions that came with it.

Here is a picture of the two. You can see that the signal mirror glass is identical except it has the LED's mounted in it.

Oh. I see. Not too difficult. I'll save my question for after you post up the how to thread. My question may be answered. Even though I bought an aftermarket mirror for my X, I'm searching the JY for another OEM mirror. I may get some signal mirrors one day.

Nice job Rondo! Can't wait for the write up. I'm thinking I may be doing this soon. How startling is that new light in the corner of your eye?

Thanks. The light isn't as distracting as you'd think. It's obviously brighter at night. I look in my mirrors a lot and seeing the signal means I won't forget to turn it off.
