skid plates

well i looked under my truck today and i dont have skid plates on my gas tank and trans. There is mounting holes for them but no skid plates. i have a 99 sport and i know it is supposed to come stanard with them. Welll i decided im goin to make my own. Ive seen plates that cover front the bumper the front differential and bolt behind that. Where do you bolt these to after the differential?

Don't feel bad, my 4x4 sport trac didn't come with one and I'm hving a hard time finding one.

i would run it all the way back to the torsion mounts. Search for Ray Lobato (sp?). He has a skid that protects it all under there, and it looks to be pretty simple to make. Other than that, just protect the tranny, tcase, gas tank, and tranny/oil pan if you feel the need to play in the rocks alot.
