So This Happened

My eldest daughter's was first car was a '89 Wrangler. Biggest piece of crap I ever bought (with the possible exception of my '01 ST... LOL) I could barely keep it on the road. I'll never buy another Jeep.
@koda2000
Be forewarned Jeep lovers! For many years, Jeeps had chronic problems with details which could very easily be fixed, but the factory never did. The leaf spring shackles, especially fronts, were horribly poorly designed, inadequate, hardly thicker than sheet metal, allowing bushings to twist sideways and wallow out early. Both front and rear differentials were inadequately small Dana Spicer units, early on the fronts were puny model 25s. Good for a go-cart maybe. The rears were model 35s, better, but should have been 44s. Volvo used 44s in their sedans for years, all those zillions of miles of of horrible roads they talked about.......Not knocking Dana, mind you, I worked for them 11 years. Some of the heaviest truck and excavation equipment transmissions/axles were Spicer-built, big as a kitchen stove!

You could pry sell those on here, or trade for some stockers...

I ended up ordering new ones last night. I was just going to throw these away but I guess you are right, someone may possibly want them. Of course that led to me buying new headlights, corner lights, and fog light assemblies. That was an easy $200 :(

Seems like prices have certainly went up on them over the past year.

Consider yourself lucky that you can even upgrade your front lights. The 98-01 mountaineer has no options.I would love smoked corners and headlights. But i love the looks of the front much better then the explorer front end. That's why i got a mountaineer.

Well so much for just getting new tail lights :afro:

Couldn't have new tails with the rest looking like they have seen better days. Will have to wait until tomorrow for me to get them on.

Finally got things changed out. It has been pretty cold here and my drive to go out to the garage has been pretty low. Weather was crappy and raining today so the pictures arent very good.

I will probably still need to adjust them a little bit, aim the headlights, needs a new grill surround, as well as some other stuff but slowly coming along.

Well I got a little bit done today, unfortunately no pictures. I haven't posted a bunch about my 97 sport as it is a little rough. It actually was pretty clean and owned by an older gentleman until he let his grandson drive it which resulted in it being wrecked in the snow. Had a soft rollover where it dented up the passenger fender, passenger door and roof a little bit. Of course the windshield and passenger window went with it. Been trying to decide if I'm gonna replace the windows and use it as a winter beater, sell it, or part it out.

Had a little bit of a lean condition from some O2 sensor issues and intake manifold gasket leaks. Got the sensors and gaskets done tonight, just gotta finish up the last few engine things from the gasket job.

I need a heated garage lol.

Damn, that's a pretty clean Mountie, dude. I like it.

Shame to hear about your sport.

I appreciate it. It's not a huge loss on the sport. I'm more of a 5.0 4RW70 kind of a guy anyways and I could use the garage space. I already have my 2000 explorer long term project as it is so I really need to get rid of the sport.

Heh.. Understandable. My first Ex was a '96 Sport.

It's only 2 wheel drive, but, that 5.0 is glorious. :p
