somethings wrong with my fuel

I have been losing alot of gas lately, and i dont know why. I never see any gas on the ground. im guessing im getting 9 to 11 miles per gallon. I have a 1998 explorer sohc. some one please help me:exp:

I would start by cleaning the Maf sensor.
After this, routine tune up maintenance--spark plugs and wires, fuel filter.

Check also your rpm's are around 2200 and no higher at 70 mph

Where do you park it? Do you have a locking cap? Lately there has been a lot of siphoning going on, especially in big apartment buildings where the cars are all lined up in carports. As it gets closer to $4 that will probably increase.
