Was driving home Thursday night and got rear ended.

There was quite a bit of distance between my Ex and the cars in front of me when they slowed and stopped quickly. I brought the Ex to a controlled stop, no skidding, etc., and had about 5 feet to the car in front of me. A couple of seconds later....wham!!!

I was alone, as was the driver who hit me. No one was hurt. He must not have been paying attention.

My Ex, has a destroyed bumper cover and some damage behind it. Won't know all the damage until the body shop gets it. His Acura was a mess & undrivable.

I didn't get any pictures at the seen. I will post some pics of my Ex later today.

Just what I needed. Son of a biscuit!!

Rondo glad to hear you are OK and wasnt hurt. I guess you will now learn everything there is to know on the rear end of the Ex or is it to bad.

Thank you.

He rear ended me, so it was his fault. His insurance company will be paying for my repairs. It goes to the body shop on Monday.

Well like I said a while back it seems like we are working our way to having "new" gen 3s. Good luck with everything.

I was just thinking how you are always saying that. Looks like the back will be new. I'm working on the front. I am on the way!

good to hear your not hurt!

I always short stop and roll forward slowly flashing my brake lights just for that reason.

people don't drive anymore. they do everything but drive. so I try to make sure they see my lights long before they rail my azz end.

I am in the process of putting 1 1/2 on the frt of ours and going to a 265 on it the wife wants bigger but I need to get my toy up before the x gots to much attention. Daddys toys come first.

Thanks! He wasn't paying attention so I don't think anything would have helped.

Daddy's toys are a priority!

too bad on the accident, but the rear end of the explorers look pretty solid, mine has the class 3 tow package and the actually hitch piece is a huge steel bar under the bumper, looks like it can take a decent impact. Too bad u didn't have a trailer hitch in the reciever, would have punched a nice hole in his radiator.

Thanks. He did get a nice hole in his radiator. It looked like Old Faithful @ Yellowstone. You are right, it would have been a lot worse if I had the trailer hitch in.

Rondo! Glad you're ok buddy..and like u said on mine i'll be waiting for those pics to get posted :)

Wow- glad you're ok, Rondo! :(

Thanks guys. I will try to get some pics up today. She goes to the body shop tomorrow morning. After I get it back I will post some "after" pics.

LOL I keep the hitch in mine strictly for that purpose. And I have my hitch bar flipped to the rise side of things. It is amazing how much further people stay back with a hitch hanging out.

Glad you're okay Ron.

Thank you sir. :salute:

Glad to hear you are fine. Hopefully, it won't take your body shop to long to finish up.

Thank you. Hopefully I will get it back soon. Dropped it off this morning and it already feels like an eternity.

I forgot to get the pics of the damage. Oh well. I will get some good ones of the repair.

Rondo- I would run over and take some. Just to have them in case you need them... I needed some months later of my Camry, and I hit a rim that skidded across the highway, there wasn't even another drive4r or insurance company involved. Cover yourself...

I know what you mean. But I have no way of getting over there.
