I'm having problems with my mile indicator. It seems to sometimes stick and will always stick for a bit if I reset the miles with the push button. What is the mechanism the drives the gauge? Is it mechanical and something I can fix?

Where does the gear end, at the wheel?

There is no speedometer cable in these trucks. It is driven by sensor pulse speed from the speed sensor "translated" by the PCM into drive pulses to the motor through the servo circuit.

The tiny drive gear on the odometer tumbler itself can break and "slip",or, the motor might be going out.
