I am debating about putting some 5"/6" lights behind my hood, like so:

What are your thoughts? I'm not sure if I should go for it or not...

Before anybody asks, I have checked, and they will fit there fine.

I think I am either going to do this, or an A-pillar spotlight like the cops have.

The placement isn't bad, the question is why? Why not just go with some bumper mounted offroad lights?

I have some on my bumper now, and higher up will spread the light a little better. The picture I chopped them into is old so the bumper lights aren't there.

x2 Unless they are removable...

Your Explorer looks like a fat salamander -- kthxbye :D

Or worse, a mall security truck.
:thumbdwn:
I would have to have flashing amber lights bright enough to give anybody around a spazam for that effect:p::p:

Edit: I see what you mean about looking like a cop car too...I think this is a no-no after thinking it through

It makes your truck look like a cop.
Or worse, a mall security truck.

I agree with my dad. Spotlights arent a bad idea, but I wouldnt put them there.

I think you would loose vision directly in front. You are going to have a really bright hood and a dark shadow in front of truck and the bright hood may mess with your nightvision.

Are you wanting these lights for looks or offroad?

I believe "Mall Security Truck" was the one that ended this idea... :D Classic!

I'm just glad you put up a picture before you actually did it, because then I would have held my comment--;)

Your interior on the other hand-is coming along nice:thumbsup:

How about one on the roof - periscope style. LOL!

Well...

Maybe...

I wonder about the hood glare from the lights..

Also its a no for me too

Look at how many pair on that one! Yikes!
