Starting and Idling Problems

My 99 SOHV Explorer 4WD doesn't want to start on the first try. I try to start it and it tries to idle very roughly. So I turn off the key, wait about 2 seconds, and try it again, and it fires right up. Also it has started dying on me after about 5-7 minutes of idling/warming up. Please any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Question, is there any kind of gasket that I need to worry about damaging when taking the IAC off? Or is it a recessed rubber o-ring type gasket?

Welcome to this forum! I don't know about your year, but all of the older models had gaskets.
