steering shaft

hi i have a 97 exeplorer v6 sohc and thanks to the forum found out what was wrong with the steering. but does any body make an aftermarket steeering shaft or is it reparible whith a new uv joint? thanks steve

I believe a company called "Flaming River" makes a shaft, but from what I understand is it's kind of expensive and I don't see how that would solve an issue with a joint. Your best bet is probably with a junkyard part and pull the joint you need from there.
