ive got a 94 explorer with the premium sound system, i think. there is no subwoofer or amp, just the deck and stock wiring. when i started up my car, instead of giving me the time, it just said "call". this has happened a few times, but i just turn my car off and on again and it works fine. but this time, after flashing call, there doesnt seem to be any power going to the deck. nothing in the display, no buttons work. can i just buy another stock deck and replace it, or does this indicate another problem? please help!!!

Stock radios are junk. Just go to the yard & get another, or upgrade. They are not the most dependable part on an explorer

If you have a premium audio system, you have an amp in back..... You can tell whether you have a premium audio system by looking at your stereo. If it has a knob for the volume control, it is the standard audio system. If it has a toggle switch, it is premium audio. If you had a sub in back, it would be the JL audio system.

As for your question, yes, just replace the stock deck and it will solve your problem.

If you have trouble finding a replacement stereo and have premium audio, I have a good premium audio stereo. I also have 2 premium amps, and one JL audio amp setup with the factory sub.... but those would be a pain to ship, since the bracket is rather large.

Hey how much for the factory sub? Does the sub work any cracks in the cone does it sound good? I would like to buy it. You can take the grill off and there are 6 stars bolts and bingo the sub is out....
