if its a ground just bolt it to the body...
yea its already bolted to the body in the pic above its the bolt to the right of the ziptie

it shouldnt make your X stall or idle rough with a loose ground , if anything , get some old 4awg power wire and do the Big 3 upgrade

oh okay just wanted to see if that would be one of the causes for my truck stall/idle rough ima be changing the IAC next weekend. I changed the throttle position sensor but one from autozone im going to get one from the ford dealership when I get the IAC..... and its funny I was just youtubing that lastnight and want to do it I just couldnt figure out where the guy put the positive wire on the alt.

I'd say if you change the iacv and still having rough idle problems and stalling I'd check the mass air flow sensor.

thats looks good it looks even better black haha and I see your explorer was red before painted....... would you happen to kno where that ground wire that I posted a pic of goes?

I don't know where the wire goes.

The truck is most likely going to end up red and black. Black from bumpers down, red everywhere else.

yea the reason my colors are black and red are cause I was being lazy and didnt paint the door panels so I just stuck with the red

didnt mean to send that twice

the big 3 includes the wire from solenoid to alt , that wire is only 10 awg from the factory , i upgraded to 8 awg , i also upgraded the main power from battery to the solenoid with 4 awg , and i also added 3 more grounds from the battery to the firewall and also from battery to fender , and battery to frame , since i have a 3' body lift one of the factory grounds had to be removed , good luck with the upgrade its not hard , just time consuming

would you mind taking some pics I really couldnt find where the + goes to the chassis like ive got the alt wire and the - to ground and what i was talking about last night was this guy, he did his alt wire but then he put what looks like the main + the an alt bolt

identifying wire for big 3 upgrade for 94 ex

Bruce'sexpo, nvm about the pics I took some just let me kno if im wrong or right well first ima need to get new a battery terminal for the - post before I start swapping wires but here

103_0265-1.jpg

Bruce'sexpo, I guess what im asking is I will run 4g wire to the starter? and run a 4g to the starter relay (block as i called it in pic) the 4g to alt?... and for the negative I have 3-12g wires coming battery terminal 2 run to a plug behind the battery im not going to change those right? just change the one that run to frame

(in the top pic I said spit I meant split) hope this helps others i will do a complete write up with pics when im complete

You only need to change the main power wire , coming from bat+ to the solenoid , then Upgrade the wire going from the Solenoid to alt , i also added more grounds from the battery to the frame and from battery to body for a better ground inside for my sound system , if you search here you can get more pics i believe

ok i think i got.. you mean from starter relay to alt right? it i think im gonna go with 0g wiring if i can find some for the right price. and nah there's really nothing on it i was up late lastnight searching treads just a bunch of people asking how to do it or saying they done it with no pic

No New wires to the starter.

You want the wire from the alt to go either straight to the battery of to the fender mounted solenoid right behind the battery and in front of the fuse box

Yeah I agree with Will, I wouldn't run larger wires to the starter.... you're asking your truck to melt down.

You have to remember that the folks that designed the truck, most likely had years of experience. And yes while some of the things they did were stupid, these trucks have been on the road for over 20 years (earliest models) w/o burning to the ground.

My mechanical opinion (I have been messing with automobiles for 20 yrs) is to NOT mess with upgrading the wire, but replace it with the same gauge wire.

That braided groung bolts to the back side of your drivers side head. It provides a ground path between the body and block.

ok the route ima go is ima upgrade the wire to the solenoid so im upgrade the wire from the alt should i also upgrade the wire from battery to soleniod? (the one that splits before meeting the wire for alt) and once i do that and that one ground to the fender would that complete the big 3?
