So I'm pulling out of the wal-mart parking lot, and put the pedal to the metal.
Well here comes the stop light so I let off the gas pedal, and my truck ain't slowin down!
Push the brakes all the way down... not slowin down much!
So I shut the truck off and put it in park... restart it. Idling at like 2-3k RPMs.
I finally figure out it's the gas pedal... it was stuck all the way to the floor. So I pull the pedal up, and drive home wearily.
I no problems on the rest of the way. So I get home, and decide to put some 3-in-1 oil on the throttle cable, and try to get it to stick again... well, it didn't.
But I dunno if I really lubed it enough. How do you get any lube down the line? All I was really able to get was the spring, and that area.
BTW, this is on my 97 5.0

maybe it got stuck under your floormat

wasn't stuck under the floormat.. somethin caused it to stick tho, and I dunno what?
maybe it wasn't the cable, hell I dunno.
I figure it wouldn't hurt the lube the throttle cable anyway.

yeah I thought that recall was for the TB.
Well I got the throttle cable oiled down good... so hopefully it won't do it again. Or I just need to keep the pedal off the floor :p

It was the pedal that was stuck, which may have also been linkage at the TB, not sure. But I do know that it wasn't the TB, as I pulled the pedal up and all was fine.
But I will still clean out the TB when I get a chance.

Thanks for help!

I read of a similar problem on another site.
Have a helper push the accelerator to the floor while you are under the hood looking at the TB and linkage. See if you can find where it might get held in place. There was some mention of the hose clamp on the TB getting in the way of the linkage and causing it to get held. Some adjustment may be needed.

the reasoning behind assuming it's the pedal, is the fact that when I pulled the pedal up, there were no noises. Now if it was somewhere in the TB linkage, I would bet that I would have heard a clank or something from the spring pushing back. I will just have to find out tomorrow on my way to work

F 350 sticking

I was driving the Fire Co. F 350 and throttle stuck wide open shut it off pumped it a whole bunch of times and it got got unstuck. The service guy replaced the linkage.
