I have a 96 explorer with the 4.0 OHV. I was concidering modifying it for more horsepower and torque and was wondering if anyone knows how much power original transmissions are good for.
I've seen stroker kits for them to make them a 4.3 and also that comp makes high lift and duration cams for them. These are along the lines of the mods I'd like to do but I'm not sure its practical using a stock transmission, or even if the engine will hold up.
Any input would be appreciated!
