Stormrunner77's '99 Sport

I'm the 3rd owner of this beuty. Will get pics up when I get a good opportunity to take some. Feel that I got relatively lucky for $2K, still had original window sticker and no major issues. For now here's her specs (from sticker):

Year: 1999
Model: Sport
Loc: Ft.Worth, TX
Eng: 4.0L SOHC V6
Trans: 5 Spd Auto
Mileage: 146K
Opt:
  • Cassette CD
  • Sport Bucket w/ Lthr
  • Premium Sport Grp
    • Step Bars
    • Fog Lamps
    • Full Face Chrome Wheels
  • Convience Grp
    • Cruise Control / Tilt Wheel
    • Cargo Cover
  • Comfort Grp
    • Keypad/Autolock/Puddle Lamps
    • Illuminated Aux Visors
    • Front Overhead Console
    • MI-Series Floor Console (anyone know what that is supposed to mean?)
    • Elctrochromic Mirror

Only repairs that I know of so far were the wiper motor and need to have the wheel bearings checked. Looking forward to getting great advice from the X vetrans on the forum.

nice lookin sport u got there

Thanks for the compliment.

What upgrades / suggestions do you all have for making her more capable as a 4x2? I've already been looking at air intake systems and I want to get some new tires anyways.

Also any ideas on a name for it?

Thanks and see ya' down the road.

If you still have OEM shocks, replace those. I put Rancho RS5000's on mine, noticeably better ride.

Thanks for the suggestion Keeper, those Ranchos look good. Do you happen to know how well they handle after a TT is done. (I'm wanting a little more ride height and just finished reading the TorsionTwist for Dummies thread here. I'm thinking a range of 1.5" - 2" would be good for what I would be doing.

I just replaced my stock shocks on my sport with 120,000 on the clock with the rancho5000s and really made a difference in the ride quality. I also have a tt.
