Ok so how many are plaqued with the streaky side windows that won't go away. Just when you get them clean the next window roll down leaves a filmy bar across. Not sure what this stuff is or where its coming from, was hoping it would wear off by now no luck. Took window cleaner and some water spray nine solution (degreaser) and wiped the window gasket and window wiper. Down the window went up it came with the streak ARGH!. I've read others have this problem anyone figured out a magic cure. Would like to tint the windows but am afraid they will apply the tint and do it over this stuff trapping it underneath. My next attempt will be using Iso alchohol to clean the rubber gaskets.

I have the same problem, I've tried windex directly on the seals, Alcohol directly on the seals and nothing seems to work. It is a bit better then it was a couple weeks ago, but still very annoying. I got my windows tinted, and haven't had any problems with the "goo" and that......Wish I had a solution, because now that it's starting to warm up, I don't want to have to wipe my windows off EVERYDAY!

For me, I get droplets of what looks to be water. Is that the oil that they put in or is that actually rain water? I didn't have that much streaks/droplets on the windows until after some rain.

Streaks on the windows too.........Im going to risk it tomorrow and get the fronts tinted

Watch the bottom of the tint as they will clean the window and then roll down a bit to start the top of the tint. Once they do that streak will deposit itself and when they roll the window back up they will smooth the tint over the streak perm trapping it between the window and film. The streaks are heavier on the outside but noticed there is stuff deposited on the inside window too.

My streak still appears on the inside of my tint, not between the glass and tint.

Will wait for Sgt to post his tint results. Anyone else with the streakers on their Ex????

Yes, horizontal streaks on all four door windows. I haven't noticed them as much on the rear windows. Have not been able to get rid of them.

Tint went very well. $90 cash. I chose 35% tint because it's only one level lighter then the OEM rear tint yet still able to see driver so Police wont be as critical.

From the angle I took the photos they almost match the rears.

My guy is pretty good, says he cleaned windows well, recommended I don't open them for 3 days to ensure proper adhesion.

Did u just get the 2 front side windows tinted or the windshield as well? Looks good, I plan on tinting the 2 side windows 35% tine on my black explorer whenever it comes in.

Yup I too get the streaky windows. I am thinking that it will go away with time.

Thats the OEM windscreen.....I think it appears darker because of new tint and dark charcoal interior.

35% seems to be the best of both worlds ......looks good yet doesn't draw heat

:thumbsup:The finishing touch on a sharp looking ride.

Sgt1411 - The tinted windows like nice. Can you confirm if the streaks have disappeared since you had the tint applied? I'm still curious what the root cause of the issue is, and what we can do (other than apply tint) to get rid of them.

Mine didn't stop after the tint....just wish I knew what it was, because alcohol or windex don't touch it

Streaky windows from day one looks really bad, and can't get it to go away looking for a tsb on how to clean windows now.....wtf...

I am just giving in to the streakiness. I don't notice it when driving.

Chalk up another X owner who is being driven "nuttier than a squirrel turd" by streaky windows.

Still wondering what special sauce someone put in these doors to streak these windows. I tried something which helped minimize it. Took 3" wide masking tape and applied it to both side of the window and ran it up and down several times trying to deposit whatever the stuff is onto the tape. Reapplied a fresh piece and soaked the window gasket with windex and did it again. The streaking is less now not totally gone. Will try again this weekend. Whatever it is its on the lower window gasket just before it enters the doors.

Cory/Seni- Pass along to engineering see what they did in the manufacturing process; it maybe something the gasket supplier did thats causing this. A widespread problem if we're all seeing it.
