On a side note, alpine type r subs are one of the best subs for spl EVER!!! If you bash alpine... whatever.

Also the Alpine line of subwoofers are worth the money. Type Rs are very good subwoofers for the price...not the Best Buy price crap though.

hahahaha i laughed at this as well. their subs are *decent* at best. quality of them is good, just like any other alpine product, but i would never ever use them for spl. brands like alpine, kicker, mtx, etc are more popularly advertised brands for people that arent deep into car audio. something they can go to the store, look at, listen to, and buy. they're good for the average listener. anything more than average...and they wont be able to handle it. let me put them in my car on 7kw and see how they like it am i bashing them? not really. i just wouldnt use them

World champions, let me say that again, WORLD CHAMPIONS!!! Have used alpine type r subwoofers. They have also set world records with this, "Best Buy" sub. I was there, I watched it happen. Also, another SPL guy who competes, used a SINGLE TYPE R 10" sub, to destroy people running a wall (In MECA). Don't believe me, look around the meca forums, or termpro. Tommyk. So, you are right its not an "SPL" sub. Next, I never said it was the greatest spl sub of all time. Also, if I should just start yelling out non best buy subs, let me know. There is a brand, Digital designs. Hummm... DO I look like the expert now? Cactus audio, (I own a 5k, do I get extra points for that?) Sundown Audio, Audioque. Let's be serious, I know of a ton of other Audio brands, Am I "Smart now"?
BigBoom I see you are from Kentucky, what org do you compete in? You have 7k of power, nice. What amp/amps do you run? Stetsom makes a nice 7k... Back to alpine type r's... I had a friend in DB Drag run Four 12" Type r's on 10,000 RMS. If you were "smart", you could push 7k to them all day long, with no problems. But, then again, if I were to explain how he did it, I might loose you...

I guess you didn't read my post correctly... 2008 MECA Street 1 151.8 db. Also, when did I say daily? Do you compete at all? I saw BigBoom say his highest score was a 147... That made me laugh, I did a 147 on 1600 watts, all MTX gear, in a street setup. (do I need to explain that to you?) You can say whatever you like over the internet. You are the "Smart guy" here...

i've got 149.3 Legal on music from my 2 15's on 4000 watts. and that was a daily setup not spl. also me and my two friends are working on a 1996 suburban. we are running a wall with 4 15" RE x..'s on 8 usamps Md3d (16,000 watts "clean power" rms) with 4 kinetic batteries and 2 220 amp alternators. and another thing 151db is no world record
