Sync ver 2.6?

Ummmm did you even bother to look at the manual?

Per the manual:
"Note: If you are locked out and need to reset the PIN, you can enter 3681 and the system will unlock."

No, I did not. I did get on line with Ford and they provided the code. I picked up a brand new 11 yesterday and the dealer service could not get that done. I have the bluetooth working but no audio or nav. I think someone took the SD card. I was told to call the dealer on Monday. Nice brand new vehicle no audio or anything when I left them but I could get it on line or as you advised in the manual. Great service NOT.

I am going there and see if I can get the SD card even from another vehicle. I think it belongs in the slot where the USB device plugs in.:us:

Yeah it sounds kind of ridiculous. We purchased the car, and had an issue in financing. We ended up not taking delivery until 11pm on a Sunday evening, and they still took the time to take the SD card out of the glove box and insert it into the slot, sit down and show us the basic functions, program our 2 cell phones to the unit, and make sure we were OK with everything. Granted I'm the opposite and would rather have skipped the whole preview moment, but I am glad they offer that for the customers so I let the sales rep do his job.

Sounds like you need to look for another dealer, if the sales/make ready departments can't get the experience right, then its not a good sign for you in regards to future service and support.

The salesman and finance were good. He did tell me that there was an issue so I was aware but not happy. Well after getting the valet code unlocked I went to the dealer today and they got me the SD card for the navigation. Still no radio AM, FM, Sirius and the bluetooth does not work because there is no audio despite it being paired and saying it's working.

I wonder if there is some pin code like my wifes Volvo had to lock the radio. I have looked in the manual for that without any success.

This X was at the Ft. Lauderdale car show so many hands many have tampered with it.

It keeps getting asked but never answered; is there really a V2.8 and if so, why is it not an option for download?

Syncmyride reports that V2.7 gen2 is the latest, so how can there be a V2.8?

Hey,

Yes there is a v2.8. The SYNC Software Version 2.8 was released this week as a dealer-installed update for the 2011 Explorer, Edge and Lincoln MKX. The SYNC Support team can review and troubleshoot your current concern(s), and if necessary help to facilitate the dealership conversation in obtaining the SYNC update.

The SYNC Support number is 800-392-3673 (option 3), and if you have any specific questions for me feel free to reach out to me via a private message. Hope this helps!

Picked up my 11 Exp Limited today. Someone locked the valet code so I have no radio or touchscreen.

The dealer said they could not unlock it?? That makes NO sense whatsoever.

Now after 2 1/2 hours to pickup the car I have to waste another 1/2 day getting this issue fixed. Next week. Nice NOT!!!

Oh and this was a show car. I picked it up from the dealer and their make ready department left a Chev brochure under the seat. I guess it was too much trouble to throw it out. Salesman was great, dealership seems to have some issues. I don't know how thrilled I will be with the service dept.

Pretty sucky to me. This is my 5th Ford Explorer.

I am wondering if I do a USB upgrade if it might unlock it? Anyone else had anything like this? Forget your valet code and you are screwed I guess.:thumbdwn:

gcr33,

I apologize that your dealer experience was any less than pleasant. I see that you are having literal technical difficulties with your in-vehicle technology. For information on how to unlock your valet code, contact the support team at 800-392-3673, option 3. Let me know if you need further assistance! :)

I got the valet code issue resolved in the chat room.

Got my SD card from the dealer. Spent 4 1/2 hours at the dealer getting the radio to work. The Contracted Tech had trouble with Ford's servers and ended up replacing a module. I ended up with V2.4 which does not make sense. The tech who seemed knowledgeable did not know about the valet code override which is in the manual.

Now I am waiting a bit to see if I can get v 2.8 Don't know why I can't flash it and have to wait at Ford.

I really don't have any dealer issues since they have little control over the radio issue.
