I was wondering, is it a good idea to use any type of synthetic oil in my 1991 X with 100,000+ miles on it, even tho I have been using regular 10w30 oil in my truck for a while?

Thanks, Derek

Good question, i know the answer but the other question is can you find it. I was a auto shop manager for 2 years the ownder bought a oil distributership by the name of dyson oils. They make a product called synergyn oil. Comes in almost every weight imaginable. Full synthetic and run it for 10,000 miles with no oil filter cange. If you can find it locally where you are I highly suggest using it. It will imporve gas milleage and also usually stops leaks from seals also. very good stuff. Email me if you have qustions ffjustinlee220@netscape.net

Many people have converted over to Synthetic. I did at 64k miles and have run it ever since. I run Mobile 1 either 5w-30 or 10w-30. Many say its not wise to switch over after using regular oil. But I think otherwise. Go for it and try it out.

Just remember, its going to clean the inside out so you might want to change it a little early.

Just went to all Synthetic in my 99 Mounty at 64K

Running 0W30 Mobil 1 in the crankcase with no problems.
