410 You rock. Ill get to wheel w/ you again. Youll love the slabs. Yes it is all weekend. I will get there Friday night and stay at the Sheraton on 6th st in Austin, Tx. That was I can go out and party. So anyone thats down for that look into the Sheraton. Then we meet at 8 am on Saturday and head to the Slabs. Leave on Sunday. You guys will get the award for out of staters coming on our slabs run. Its about 3.5 hours from Dallas. I cant wait now. Make sure you guys ask off now so as not to miss this event.
No Hotels on Saturday night. Straight up old school camping. No elect, no running water, no nothing except for what you bring. So come prepared.

Hell come prepared? It caught me off guard staying in a Hotel in Moab, I was like, "What?" I thought the whole point of going 4x4ing was to go camping and 4x4ing.

I spend all my spare time camping all over the midwest with the boat, we are professionals.

I only require two weeks notice to get the time off, I will take Friday and Monday off, that should be perfect.

Us Colorado'ans dont know why they even bother building hotels, unless you are going to Las Vegas, who needs a hotel! All I need is some matches, a flashlight, and a pillow, as long as there is still room for Beer. :)

Okay now I'm excited. two tone and I may have to follow each other out there. I dont know if Joe and Brett will come, Joe is still working out some bugs from his monster conversion (5.0L HO, it's running! and it kicks ass! that truck should have it's own magazine, screw just an article) and Brett's BII is out of comission with a bent drivers side beam, and once it'sfixed plans are for his little brother to get the truck, so Brett's wheels are turning and he is planning to build "the Ultimate" Bronco II, so that could be a couple years before the new one see's any trails.........

Okay so now I have 33's, 4.10's, and ARB, and the room to clear the 33's. all I need is a air compresser to run the ARB!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Got a hell of a deal on a used ARB....no compresser......oh well I got 2.5 months........

By that time I should be organized enough that I'll just have to throw my cooler in the truck full with a few days of food and one trunk full of all the "oops" tools. Add a sleeping bag, pillow, and the hatch tent and I'm ready :)

Starting the run on Saturday and leaving Sunday would be good for me. If I can go at all. Damn I wanna go!!!

Taking On Water!

410, I was checking out your pics of the BII and noticed that you have some stereo equipment in the back there. Well if you ask any of us that have been to the slabs, we will tell you that there is a possibility of taking on some water. ie. Sinjin. Just a friendly reminder. Trckmagik told me that you should just go ahead and herculine the interior like we did on his.

OKay dually noted, those pictures are outdated! My stereo has been "simplified" to say the least now, that big ass box is long gone and I now have a single ampmounted up high and out of the way, my cargo space is back! I have a single subwoofer in a tiny box that I can move around, even set next to the campfire if one was so desired.

but what about my power seats!?!?!!!

I saw the pictures and it looks like Sinjin dropped his front tire in a big hole causing the damage, how deep is the water there? Should I bring the boat?

My truck is well equipped for water crossings, all my vents are extended, all door seals are new, and all my wiring is water-resistant, but I dont make a practice of driving through water above the bumper......

How deep are we talking in October?

You should be fine. He did drop in a hole, but thats the thing you never know. I didnt go past my headlights last Oct :) As long as you keep your airbox above water level youll be okay. I still run my power seats and they just make noises when they get wet :) I should have my tube doors by then. Now to get the truck in the shop to fix my overheating issues.

Who in the hell still runs with an airbox? You mean as long as my KKM stays above water I'll be okay.

So are you saying your seats have been under water at the slabs? Can I expect the same?

Oh and what kind of a shop do you need to fix the overheating issues? Hell just drive/ship it up here to CO and we'll fix it up nice for ya!!!

No not under water. But I hose the interior out at the car wash and the fry for a minute. I get a good stare from people when they see me doing it to the explorer. You will be fine. I cant figure out if the overheating is from tranny or what. We replaced all the other stuff. I was gonna have tranny shop look at it.

I will just unhook my power seats when I get there as once im adjusted I dont need the power.

Brain dude I was joking! I'm not too worried about my seats, ifit'sthat deep my computer is gonna get wet and I'll be SOL anyways, so I'll just follow you through and avoid any deep holes! :)

If your auto tranny is having heat problems then there are plenty of solutions for that! Do you have the stock tranny cooler?

What did you replace so far?

35's, 5.13's, and an A4LD= heat problems for sure!!! :)

I'sa gonna be there. I might have an extra seat too, depending on whether or not my friends decide to come along.

I'll go to Las Cruces too if someone wants to caravan with me. I ain't going out there by myself...

I'm thinking I might do Las Cruces. It would be a long weekend for me. I am thinking of heading out Thursday right after work, calling in Friday and Monday, and be back in time for work on Tues. Sound like a plan?

What's the tally so far?

At this point in time who is all going to meet for the slabs run?

If I don't have any tests the next week and y'all are willing to help me through, I'm coming.

Tally Ho!

Tally me in if I don't break anything in Las Cruces the week before. Keep the shiny side up! :nono:

Okay, well my calendar is marked.

yes it would... You would need to roll it on to the passenger side.

Personally, I would prefer staying away from rolling! But hey if you are going to roll, roll the right way, passenger side first.
