TEXANS Serious about Slabs run.

I'm working on it!!!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.....it's gonna be close! I split up with my girl of 6 years so things have been a little crazy, like if I need parts I have to go home to get them and confront her.....not a good situation, we have been butting heads.........

So we shall see....still have tons to do........I may have to make the run with the ARB installed int he diff but not functioning because there is no way in hell my on board air is gonna be setup by then....

Think I'll be okay with an open front diff, 33's, 4.10's, and a brand spankin new limited slip in the rear?

I did get all my deep water prep work done though! Yeah!! still need to mount the 33's and the fenders...this weekend I'll tackle those.......

You will be fine without the ARB up front. Just make the trip anyhow. It will be good for you. Get out and see the countryside and meet us in Austin friday night for some adult beverages and some women............

This will definately be a good time so all must come!

Okay, I think we should do somthing a little diff this year as far as dinner is concerned. We normally make a list of what someone is responsible for at dinner, however to make things super easy (planning wise) I think it would work best to just bring your own breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Just be responsible for yourself. What do you guys think? Just an idea.

Sounds fine to me. Cya there!

Sounds like a plan. Getting real close.

Working on it....working on it.....working on it.....

Looks like I will be bringing my own girl if I get ready in time.....

ARB going in this weekend! Yeah! finally.....33's are mounted on the rims, just have to fit the fenders......

The onboard air for the ARB will not be done in time for the run unless I win the lotto! Need about $300 and a weekend............

You better be here. Just apply for a new credit card and have them overnight it (not that ive done it). He He

I wish, no I am doing the A/C compressor conversion with a tank, I decided against an electric compressor, I want something that can fill tires QUICK and run tools...........however getting it all together especially to also run the ARB is simple, but time consuming...........

OH and it's actually WAY cheaper then the higher end electric one's.......

However I have got some of my "leaks" sealed up for the deep water and the t case vent tube is extended with the others...... now just need to install the front pig and fit the Autofab's, shouldnt be a problem since my parents are gone next week and I am wathicng their house = garage and work on truck after work each night......

Get off the computer man and start working on it! LOL

Think my boss would understand? Hey I gotta go, you see there is this trail ride and my truck just isnt ready, so Im taking the week off.....yeah about those deadlines.............I'll do the drawings when I get back, some things are just more important....

Well thats one way to get the time I need..... :)

Well I got my overheating problem fixed for now. They shipped me the wrong radiator, so since i had the old one out of teh truck I cleaned it real well. I reinstalled along w/ new hoses, new 11 blade fan, new fan clutch from 1995 and a broncoII fan shroud. Its staying cool now.
I still have to install longer breather hoses. Brad drilled holes in my floor so as the water can drain out. We filled interior up while washing the interior and the holes work. No more draining probs.

Didnt the Ex already have some rubber plug/drain's built into the floorboard?

The BII's do.....

Glad you got that sucker running cool, have you tested it?

Brian, one more ?, if I drag a small 4x8 box trailer down there with me is there a place to store it while we are on the trails?

Also how many days nights will I be camping? I know we have discussed this, I just cant remember right now. Looks like I will be bringing a "date" with me....

Yes there are some plugs in the floor just not where I wanted them. We will only be camping one night (saturday). Friday night we are staying at the Crown Plaza on 6th St. I did get to drive the truck for about an hour yesterday after completeing the install. It was overheating within minutes and now it stay in beween the o and the r on normal. Lookin good......

I got gears!!!! I am Going to try and install them this week and install the Front axle as well.

My fenders are completely on and painted ($3 rattlecan). And I just ordered my quick airdowns. All I need is to pack up and get my CO2 refilled.

Just so y'all know: I want to make it to the campsite. If we end up leaving my truck there, that's fine (though I'd like to drive it as much as I can). I know I'll probably need help to make it to the campsite, but that's all I'm askin'. I hope my 33s do better than my 31s. And the only reason I left my truck last time is because the water was too high.

So thank you in advance ;)

Kris you better make it in the green monster.

So wait, we'll be driving to the campsite and camping on sat. night? I don't know if I'll be able to do that...I have to work from midnight to 6 on sat. night, so I'll have to figure something out there...

I still have quite a bit to do before I'm ready to go... Kris, would you happen to have a few hours open either this thursday or friday?

I am off Friday this week.

Brian, The Green Monster is going to make it but it is going to be close. I started regearing the front Third member last night. I have to remove the 2wd suspension and install the 4x4 one then regear the rear end.

hahahaha!!! Maybe we should bring an Extra Explorer along just for parts!!! hahahahaa....yikes......

Brian,

If I drive to TX with my 31's and the 33's in the trailer, can I leave the trailer and 31's at somebodys house (where they wont get stolen) for the trail ride?

IS this feasible?

Sure would make the drive easier with the 31's...........

Let me know....I have borrowed a Heep to drive next week from my dad so after work every day I can finish up all my current projects and make the trip.......
