Text Message issue, different / Verizon LG G3

Hey all! Brand new poster here! I searched forums but seem to be having a little different problem with my message access than what I could find. I've done master reset, unpaired, repaired, etc. I do not like my text messages coming up on my screen. I have restricted initial message access when I pair the phone to my 2013 Explorer Limited, and also unchecked "Message Access" on bluetooth settings on my phone. Every time I leave my vehicle (Phone disconnects) and get back in (reconnects), it automatically defaults to message access and I get notifications for messages I've already looked at on my phone. I just want to disable texts all together but still be able to use calling and media via bluetooth. Any idea how to get this setting to stick? It is going in to the dealership next week to address the ambient lighting issue. On current version 3.6.2.
