So I did something crazy, I got me a 2000 Superduty as a highway/towing rig.
The specs are
2000 F250
7.3 Powerstroke
6 Sp.
4x4
Ex Cab.
NO MODS!

Here she is sitting pretty with about 105k

Hopefully I will get the before pictures from the significant other as she took them the morning after I bought it. It started its tenure lifted 3 inches and rolling on 35's.

So, now a 30 ft trailer--??

Did I ever tell you you are my best friend?

I think that was very good investment. Good job:thumbsup:

So there will be one mod...a gooseneck ball ;)

and there is a 25 footer that I might be able to sneak away for a while

I think this is the one that I will use. Dad has had one in the past two trucks, one being a 2000 f250 with a V10. They are ridiculously heavy and are rated at 35k, more than I will ever pull.

Cody Hitch

Could I just pick a B&W up at a factory discount? Surely you know a guy who knows a guy...;)

A couple of glamour shots. She now has a straight pipe the WIX 6637 mod, some Milemarker hubs.

A couple of gauges, maybe a 6.0 intercooler, and some 02+ headlights and I might leave it alone after that...no guarantees :D

I thought all of the truck 7.3s came intercooled already? Or is this just for a better intercooler?

6.0 is about 20-25% larger with identically placed inlet/outlet (they might be reversed on the 6.0 but no matter). Just need some boots to adapt the size.

She has been initiated with a good load (30ish foot 4 horse slant)and made 11.3 mpg.

She knew it was there but once I get a new less glazed fan belt I think things will be better. When the fan and A/C were pulling, it would squall a little. But gotta drain the radiator to remove the upper hose (it runs in between the belt)

As for the intercooler, I need some spare cash and a nice used one located.

Which clutch does it have in it? I just put another SBC DF paddle clutch in mine.

Also, check and see if the CPS has been replaced - look for a grey/purple one; the old "bad" one is black. If it's black, if you visit a dealer, it will be replaced under a recall (along with a mod to the cruise control - another recall). Make DAMN sure they run a CCT test before they release it back to you.

Have fun with it!

I have read about the CPS but haven't checked. I have a long lead injector too will that throw the results the CCT?

As for the clutch, I think it is still stock (its got 113k on the clock).

Thanks for the tips!

No; it's funny, some engines don't have a problem with the new sensors, and others (like mine) totally hate the new CPS.

CCT test will show the differences in the sensors..

The moment you up the power, it's a goner.

There was a shift fork problem for a while - the SBC has a kit that replaces that, uses kevlar for the pilot bearing, and gives you a choice of clutches - either a new flywheel or reuse the old flywheel.

Also, I have a Edge Juice/Attitude in mine; it's not bad, but it's an automatic SES light (p1201 code, low ICP pressure) in level 3.

Get an EGT gauge before you do anything to the engine.

Gauges are next, but as for power adders I don't know. Safe stuff, lower egts, and if more power comes out of it good deal. I want as many miles as I can get on this truck.

I think I will check the sensor tonight.
