5r55e calls for Mercon V. Back of bottle says it can be used for Mercon V, SP, and LV. I thought they were all incompatible with each other?
Is this stuff safe to use?

it says mercon V on the back. Thats what i put in my Kia Optima that required SP III and i had no problems with it. then i traded it in on a newer car, but this is what everyone was using in it on the Kia forums. The stuff has a very distinct smell too.
Ditto replies above. These 5R55E transmissions are finicky enough, why take a chance regardless of what the
aftermarket bottles say? IIRC, Mercon V contains added friction modifiers to prevent slipping. Your call, all major
oil manufacturers offer specific Mercon V for about the same price as Mrecon. Are you in the U.S.?
