Yep that would definitely be the stuff you need. As far as headers go... a v-8 explorer would definitely benefit more from headers than a v6 would......unless it was supercharged.

I have the jetchip and yes it makes a difference......but is it worth paying $200 dollars for? Well that's another matter. Anything that even feels like it gives me SLIGHTLY more power I go for.

I agree about getting the V8. I held out and found a 99 4DR XLT black with grey leather and only 11,000 miles for $15,500. Its 2 wheel drive though. Just keep looking, there will be a deal in your price range.
