I have a 97 explorer XLT with 145000 miles just got a large hole from a 3 inch nail in tire. I have been wanting to but larger tires on it for a while and nows the time since all my tires need replaceing. I have noticed that several threads said that you can put 31x10.5R15 on stock rims with no lift and 33x10.5R15 on with TT and add a leaf. But they also said that stock rim was 8 in from looking at mine it says 7 in on the side. Are there different width stock rims and will theses tires sizes work? Also any recommendations on witch set up? im looking for more clearance and a more aggressive stance. Also were can you get add a leaf kits? What Brand? I am moving onto base this weekend and need to get this done fast i can do the TT but were should i go for add a leaf? any tire store? Thanks for any advice!

Idealy I would like to ad 32s or 33's but 32s require an 8-10 in rim and my stock rims are 7in cant afford to by new rims too!

I have 31x10.5x15 on my 7" stock rims.

Stock rims are 7 inch.
Here's a selfish plug for my 31" tires. Take a look at the link below and you'll get an idea of the more aggressive stance you're looking for. They are on 8" rims, but they'll work well and be fine on 7" rims or so I am told, so you'd be fine just getting them put on your existing rims. I had to trim a little bit to fit my 31's, you'd have a tough time with 32 or 33 unless you do more lifting.
Anyway, here is link to my thread. Enjoy. :)
