It all depends on what you use your Explorer for. Are you asking what size tires people prefer, or what type/brand?

Telling people what you use your explorer for mostly will also help people recommend tires.

Oh

I use my explorer mainly from point a to point b, but i like to be swift on take off, i drive in city, highway, and gravel roads everyday. During hunting season i go off road, nothing extreme, at most 6 inches of mud, i haven't had any problems, the day i got them i drove through a pond bed, i had it in 4 high and started spinning out, i checked it out and i was buried to the rims on the passenger side and a few inches deep on the drivers side. I dropped down into 4 low and drove right out. What about shocks, i need new shocks but i'm not sure what to buy, i dont want to spend more than 40 bucks on each one.

Tires on my DD i run stock size Toyo Open Country A/Ts and they've gotten me through everything from street to highway to offroad

Shocks i run Rancho...9000s? i think i need new springs so i didn't tell a difference

yeah i like the tires i have on here now. i was thinkin about some monroes

Monroe Sensatracs are good if you want a better-than-stock replacement, but not a really firm ride. The Reflex is good if you want something thats really nice and easy to get at parts stores, too. You can get the cheap yellow monroes for $9.99 or so at Sears when they have 'em at 50% off.

The best bang for the buck budget-wise has got to be the KYB Gas-A-Just, though. A monotube performance shock at a budget price.

what about the gas-A-just, where can you get them, how much

you can get the kyb gas-adjust and gr2 gas shocks at advance auto. you can also get the monroe reflex truck shock which is pretty much the same thing as the rancho rs5000 series (same parent company) for around 40-45 dollars. too bad you guys are so spread out, i give discounts.
