i need specs on a speaker box that will fit in where the mtx thunderform box goes. has anyone made a box that goes there? (pass side rear) just wondering if anyone had a dimensioned drawing that i could use to build myself a box so i dont have to go out and measure everything in 26 degree weather.

BUMP! i know plenty of people have done this. anyone?

Did you try a search? there's a thread that had the dimensions on it, I saw it when I was planning for a system on my 97

You can use the factory box and work it out to fit a 10 as well. It's all searchable.

yes i tried to search, didnt come back with a damn thing. thats why im asking here. and i dont have a factory sub there, im just gonna build my own box. now, anyone willing to point me in the right direction??

I have a box sitting in my garage... don't need it. If you want it, I'll send it to you. It was given to me by a shop that didn't need it - for an 01 Sport.

Wow. That's a nice offer, Donner. Did you know that I need one too... and am so much closer ;). Seriously, I can't keep a box in the back with the dogs and can't see spending hundreds on a new box, so I'm planning to build or retrofit as well.

98xploder, the default search doesn't tend to work well. Try advanced search, "factory, box" or something like that in thread titles. There's some good info with a bit of digging.

It's been sitting here for months, one edge is a bit tattered, but a it's just the cloth cover. Come to think of it, I've never opened it to see what it looks like inside.

Edit: This is just the factory box with a cover...

Well, if you want it gone, just let me know and we can meet somewhere. I still haven't seen your truck in person and it would be nice to see all the new work you've done

Sorry for the hijack 98xploder.

its cool, if Ritsui wants the box, its all his. thanks for the offer though, but i got lots of wood and whatnot laying around, so i figured id rather just build a box on my own.. anyways i guess im back to searching.......

found this for you after a little searching

http://www.cuttingedgeracing.com/zach/box/plans.pdf

and quoting this from the post i got this from:

"I would also like to throw in that the mounting depth of the subwoofer he used is 5" so you will need a similar sub with a similar mounting depth or you might have to make a spacer ring.

It's also only .57cu/ft

Looks like you're going to need a slim line sub with small air space requirements

http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/pro...roducts_id=106

Looks like this sub would be ideal for this set up. .5 cu/ft is ideal with only a 3" mounting depth"

here ya go, this helped me alot

i plan on doing another box b/c this design is just a bit(1/8"-1/4") too deep and there was still room unused over the wheel well near the seat belt, but i have a sport so i dont know if that would be the case for the 4doors

damn kelly2, ya beat me to it!
