just a heads up for anyone doing a 98 up v8 ranger swap and would like some better flowing headers and cant or dont want to pay around $800 for a set. i found some that work with a little rework on 2 tubes on the drivers side. pass. side goes right in with no mods the driver side first & second tube need reworked. first needs moved down and brought up to the bottom side of the header tube and the second tube just needs extended out to clear the shaft the 3rd tube only needs a small demp. to clear spark plug socket. i did have to trim the motor mount plate on the back corner to clear the collector. if you dont mind a little work you can save alot of $. i used a junk set of headers i had to rework the to tubes. summit racing sells these. they are for a 1995 f150. PACESETTER PERFORMANCE HEADERS summit part# psm-70-1322 they cost $219.95 plus shipping.. i also found some spark plugs that are shortys for gt40 p heads they give you more header room, i havnt used them but fig. i would pass along to those having burnt plug wire problems. ACCEL U GROOVE summit racing. acc-0416s $22.69 plus shipping. thats a pack of (4) if any one would like to see pics of the headers on the truck send me your email and i will email you pics when i have time, because i dont know how to upload pics to this site. if you dont like this that's fine, it's just REAL nice to have another way to go and alot better price for the average family guy trying to raise kids and still being able to play with his toys lol hope this helps somebody else. p.s. ive also talked to another guy that did a 98 ranger v8 swap and he used foxbody mustang style shorty headers on his. his mods where about the same, first tube on driver sidecut and moved in closer to the motor and 2nd tube he just looped it out around the steering shaft.
