Was suggested to come to this forum to post my question as I guess my 2003 Explorer Sport has the same Platform as the 95-01 Ex's

Here was my question:

Looking to crank the Torsion bars on my 03 sport and adding a set of lift shackles to the rear along with an 1" block and new shocks at all 4 corners

truck currently has 255's under it without any issues, Whats the largest
tire i'll fit under it with torsion crank + rear shackles? 31-32's???

I dont want rubbage

thanks
Dave

Also on the Torsion crank how much do I crank each one 2-3 full rotations or whats the proper way of doing this and is an allignment recommened afterwards? with Warrior Shackles and add a leafs and front crank and some 31 or 35 ( Going with BFG All-Terrians) as i do allot of highway driveing
would yu suggest longer shocks ment for an 2" lift kit or would that be overkill like how much lift up front am i getting with cranking the torsion bars I dont want to Kill my ride that much eaither as it actually rides nice

wow...ok
what you can fit depends on your truck some seem to just be able to fit more, varies from 31s to 33s. I did get longer shocks when I did my lift but I know other ppl who didn't. Surch the thread for TT or tortion twist 101 or somethin like that, explains everything, I've done a TT in the rain in a parking lot...really pretty easy, just go get an alignment afterwords.
Don't do the block...blocks are stupid...and welcome!
(i didnt even know they made 2003 sports...i thought they discontinued them with the 2001 model yr)

Torsion Bar 101.

You don't want to go more than 2" so it can still be aligned

A block won't work, it will actually lower your truck. You need the Shackles. Warrior part # is WAR153

Search for those and you'll be set.

I have done the same TT/ shackles and am running 32s. I had to do minor trimming on the plastic on the inner rear of the front fenders.

Awsome

Thanks for all the help, I was out laying under the truck takeing a peak this afternoon I noticed the adjusting nut was futher out on the drivers side then on the passanger side is this normal? ive never adjusted or touched anything i was just wondering before i made any adjustments.

Ya i got the warrior 153 shackles ( not installed yet) Going to wait till
my 2" lift kit shocks come in then i'll take an afternoon and do the TT shakles and shocks and I'm thinking I'm going to end up with a set of the NEW BFG mud terrians in 30.5 or 31's

so whats the deal with the correction of the speedo after larger tires?

Ive done older Ranger SAS swap and TTB lifts never touched the newer stuff thats why i'm asking

thanks again,

no speedo change with 31s

no speedo change with 31s

Ya I guess Your right, I'm currently running 255/70/16 from factory which in Turn are actaully an 30.1 " tall tire, I'll be going up up to an 31x10.50x15 BFG so 1" really isnt going to effect it that much.

Gonna be sweet once its sitting level and riding on some more agressive tires.

Dave

axle code is 46 so looks like i got the 3.73 NON L/S axle

anyone have a newer explorer with a winch up front? how did you mount it
