Total confusion - trans swap

Hi Guys, I'am brand new and already looking for help, any and all of which will be greatly valued.
Here gos, I have two 01 explorers one with 5r55e trans and the other has a 5r55s trans both are factory so the latter must have been a late year run. My question is can i swap 5r55s into other using it as a donor car.

all 01 V6 explorers have 5r55e sorry the "S" version of this trans did not come out in the Gen II trucks

Yes you can swap a 5r55e for a 5r55e as long as they both have the same tailhousing (2wd or 4wd)
