so I got some 3 hole tow hooks and I am using the middle hole to mount it to the existing hole in the frame but the thing is I cant pull it all the way to the forward because then it wont tighten. so I have to put it in the middle of the whole but if I do that then it pulls through the frame well I have a fix for that I was thinking about just putting a washer on the top part so it wont pull through but I still don’t know how to keep the top part of the bolt from moving

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying, but why not just drill out two holes in the frame, and use the outer two tow hook holes and just mount it that way?

basically there are two places on a the bolt that have to be held/turned and if I put one bolt in the existing hole how can I reach the top part of the bolt the part that is in the frame because i cant get a wrench in there to holed it

can anyone help me?

I've had the same problem, but my hooks only had 2 holes.. I had to fit a wrench through one of the triangle cut outs on the frame to hold the nut to keep it from spinning; sometimes the wrench wouldn't fit because of the nut position so I used a screwdriver through the cut outs to jam the nut. If you're using the oval cut out in the frame make sure you use several washers as one by itself won't hold during tow hook use.

see i tried the wrench idea but it wont fit i tried and tried but it wont

Your second explanation makes a lot more sense, and I understand what you're saying now. When I did my fronts I was able to wriggle a wrench into the frame enough to get them bolted up. I believe I used a few washers as well. It's definately not easy. Can you take pictures so help us see what the situation looks like exactly?

Did you try what DeRocha suggested and jam the nut with a screwdriver?

i am gunna try that as soon as i git home to day is the last day of school so i am happy.but i was just wondering if there was any oher way

post pics...youll get a lot more help...

It also helps to have several wrenches available. I had several 3/4" wrenches, but only 1 would fit through the opening (the others were too big)..

The tools below would def make this job go easier..

I am almost done I got some washers from a local store for free then I did DeRocha's idea about the screw driver and now they are in there tight and secure now all I have to do is to get my girlfriend’s mama to drill the hole in the frame.

woa wait a minute.. umm questions and stuff come to mind.. Like why not you and stuff like its a drill not hard to use. start small and work you way up..

sujt drill the frame througn the top, and get a longer bolt that goes all the way through the frame instead of trying to get a wrench inside the boxed frame...

Dude, you gotta to stop with that. That's like the last person aside from my grandmother I'd want working on my truck while I watched. Man up and grab the drill. It's not that hard. ;)

I dont have the right kind of drill bits

girlfriends mom? :nono:

Whats a drill bit cost, 5 bucks? I think I'd skip a six pack to avoid that embarrassment. Man up and buy the bit. Its a project and a great opportunity to buy the right tools. I promise you will use the thing again.
