OK, I am trying to figure out which trailer harness to use. My new 99 Mountaineer does have a connector tucked up at the bumper.
Do I use the one with or without the isolation adapter?

On my 97 Sport I used the "T" type adapter as it did not have the lone connector (even though the shop manual showed it)

Shouldn't I assume that if it has the connector that it is already isolated through the relay(s)??

As far as I know if it is the flat connector you can just plug it in. I rented a U haul (four letter word) it connected no problem. This is on a 91 ex. When I started to pull a travel trailer I had to get a 7 prong end which had the plug and extra extra wires for brakes etc. I think it is ok the way it is. The relays on mine are in the compartment where the jack and washer bottle are. I can here the clicking when using signals and brakes coming from the rear.

i couldnt find a plug, so i just cut and sodered,it cost a total of 4 bucks for the plug, allot better than the 50 for the plug that attaches with no cutting
