A class 3 hitch. Those haulers work ok if your bike or bikes Don't weigh that much.If you go putting 5 or 6 hundred pounds on there your gonna be able to see a big difference in your handling. You can check out harbor freight tools and find a small trailer for less money that would be more simple to use and handle alot better on the trip.IMO:)

for that you would needa reciever hitch, which explorers dont have stock, but are relatively cheap to install.

For a small trailer like that you can get by fine with a ball mounted on the bumper.I have the receiver hitch off of my explorer right now because the one I have doesn't allow me good ground clearance.I just pulled another Explorer on a car dolly using my bumper mounted ball with no problems.A small motorcycle trailer weighs alot less than that.I have a Kawasaki 600 KLR dirt bike,A Honda Goldwing full dresser,& my Harley that I pull on a trailer with the bumper mounted ball.I've had no trouble yet.The hitch mounted carrier you was lookig at will work OK if there's not too much weight on it.It is rated for 600lbs.but having that much on the very rear of your truck it will handle like your pulling a big travel trailer back there. Most big trailers only have about 500 lbs.hitch weight.

I'm not trying to sell you on the small trailers, I haven't pulled one like that.I see alot of them arond here for ATVs I don't really know about the small tires on them maybe someone on here has used them.I have a 16' utility trailer for my bikes and a 22' dove tail I use for my dozer or my tractor.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was thinking of going the Trailer Option also because It is more practical especially if i was going to do trakdays on my Sportsbike. So I need to carry tools and all that. Also do you think my explorer can tow a honda civic or is it not reccomended?

With a class III hitch and the right trailer or towing setup, you can pull a civic. I used to drag my Samurai around behind the X all the time (flat towed it) with no problems.

Just dont drive it while towing in Overdrive...unless you have a tranny that has been rebuilt with all the updates..
