Built out of an old boat trailer.

Yes, those are low profile z rated tires on my old rims (MG has the caps)

Is your trailer rated for over 100mph? ;)

OOH didn't realize its a mini tent trailer. How long does it take you to set up?

If I want to be really quick about it I can be out of the weather in under 3 minutes.

Hmmm, cool i like that idea, plus its really light weight so mileage will not be affected. I will have to see when i get my info packet for the T@DA. The woman in my life is the one who really wants it so she will be making the overall decision, i like it though :D ;) :p:

Not a big bad trailer, but just right for lawn mowers, ATV's, general hauling around. It has a long enough tongue I can back it anywhere I want to go with it, its light enough I can move it with ease, and I've had nearly 2k on it before. I hope/plan to get it sand blasted and paint it gloss black this summer.

It's a hair over 50" wide, about 8 feet long. The tires are new 12", the biggest I could find for the 4 lug hubs. It did have 8" golf cart size tires on it before. It does tilt back, just pull the pin and push it down.

bumping

Seeing that its been a few days and we have several new members I am bumping this thread again. I still haven't made any decisions on what trailer to buy yet. I know that i want a Travel trailer, and after going to the dealer i really liked the T@B but the colors the offerd are a little out there, so if i buy one of them i will have to paint it.

Have you been to Travel Land off of the 5 in Tustin/Irvine?

No, is it any good???

Hey, how did you know about that, don't you live in NoCal?

here is my camping rig

I saw a T@B over at a house near my aunts house so i figured i would knock on their door and see if they will let me look at it. The one i saw is yellow, but i think iwould still repaint it, probably same color as my Ex. Travel Land is the closest T@B dealer to my house and its about a 120 mile round trip so i want to be sure i like it before i make the effort to drive that far. I will definently go elite and post pics of my ex and the new T@B as soon as i make a decision.

Here's my trailers:

A welder buddy and I made this one, and then I painted it, and put in the plywood. 3/4" ply on the bottom, and 1/2" ply on the upright pieces. I will probably be pulling the fenders off and re-doing them this summer. My previous towing vehicle was a 1992 Isuzu Rodeo, and was this Raspberry / burgundy colour, so that is why the trailer is that colour. It is also a little narrow, and hard to see behind me in the Explorer.

And this is our tent trailer. It is a 1996 model (I think). The wood is there as a brace, holding the lid up. One of the uprights / poles (front right, you can see the holes) managed to tear loose, so I am in the process of putting in some re-inforcement.

Handles like a dream, I took it camping on the Victoria day weekend (2 weeks ago), and barely noticed it behind me.

Man, i wish we could just buy a freaking tent trailer, but the wife doesn't want one. She wants a hardsided trailer that requires ZERO setup. And she wants it to be enclosed, as in no fabric walls that will let heat out in the winter and cold out in the summer.

Essex, how about a Hi-Lo. Low profile for towing, solid walls, available in various sizes with all the stuff. Fridge, AC, Shower, Microwave, even a slideout if you want.

cool idea, but i want to feel like we are camping still. I always go to campsites with bathrooms, and i really wouldn't want to cook inside of it. Plus the fact that i only have a class II tow hitch means i have to pick a small trailer. I have seen those before cool idea, but very pricy. I would like to pull into a campsite and have the set up be simply unhook the trailer and your done. I know that the hardsided tent trailers are easy to set up, but storage is also an issue. My only real storage left is the extra third car garage, so space is tight. That is one of the reasons that i like the T@B clamshell. You cook outside, and sleep inside, no smells from cooking, and it means your forced to go outside, which is something you should be doing already if your really camping.

So here is the latest update, i got the catalogue, wast of paper, it tells you so little. Oh well, no matter. The wife and i went out to our local travel trailer dealer and talked to them about the price of a T@B well guess what their expensive for what you get. Its only 5' 9" inside so i can't stand up. I wasn't surprised by that because i reasearched info on their website. Well after the wife took one look and said and i quote "BIGGER!!!." I have decided to wait untill the same dealership gets a few Aliners in stock. The Aliner is basically a hardsided tent trailer.

Here is the company website, the dealer doesn't have a website.

Nice!

Gator- I have about 15 of those caps in my garage- want a couple of them for your trailer? I have no use for them... :)

And does it count if I've slept in this boat 7-8 times already?
