I was searching for a transmission drain plug, and was wondering if anyone used a Fumoto engine oil valve for their transmission pan? Seems to me that it should work with the addition of a nut on the inside of the pan. Perhaps there are some inherent problems in this that I cannot visualize. I did find one other drain plug from Kragen's Auto Supply. The drain plug was Mr. Gasket, part No. 4470. Any comments on either item or other recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you for the information!!!

just get one from autozone

I could not find one on the Autozone website, but found one at Kragen's. I'll probably purchase it there. Thanks...

The Kragen plugs work great, I used RTV on mine and never had a leak, but every time I pulled the plug I got nervous about the inner nut and breaking the seal.
A fumoto would be great but major overkill IMO.
It would be cake to braze a brass insert into the OEM pan with a plug, may be a better way.
I run an oversize PML pan now with a huge drainplug, no worrys
