I have a 1991 ford explorer with the A4LD tranny. I have a leak, but there is no visible leakage. I am not sure whether the transmission fluid is being sucked through the vacum control modulator deal and was wondering if there was any way to tell. I am leaning towards the vacum module because it seems the more i run my truck, the more fluid it uses. I had my truck for about 6 months which I drove it probably 60-65 miles total during those months, and i didnt have to fill it at all. so far I have driven about 300 miles, and basically add a pint of tranny fluid when i gas up. How much do these modules cost? and is it even recomended to change the module, or just get a whole new tranny. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
